Lagunas Mentales

Creo que tengo lagunas mentales. En mi trabajo anterior tuve la oportunidad de ayudar a personas provenientes de varios países, pero por más que intento, no recuerdo haber ayudado a nadie procedente de la República de Ghana. Sin embargo, algo he de haber hecho porque acabo de recibir un mensaje muy amable del señor Suleiman Ibrahim agradeciéndome por la ayuda que le brindé el año pasado.

He de confesar que en un principio pensé que se trataba del famoso fraude Nigeriano, pero al ver que el correo proviene de un Ghanés adinerado que tiene los recursos para irse a estudiar a Japón me di cuenta de que lo que pasa es que soy un mal pensado ya que obviamente no se trata de la misma persona.

El Sr. Ibrahim no me da ninguna pista de qué ayuda es a la que se refiere, pero dice que en agradecimiento me piensa enviar un millón y medio de dólares, los cuales me quiere hacer llegar a través de su abogado en Ghana, Barrister Peter Hills. Tampoco me da datos del abogado más allá de su dirección de correo electrónico, p.hills@fastermail.com.

Estimado Señor Suleimán: gracias por el ofrecimiento, pero no puedo aceptar su dinero. Verá: lo que sea que haya yo hecho o dejado de hacer por usted, debe de haber sido en el marco de mi trabajo y por lo tanto era mi obligación. No sería ético de mi parte aceptar recompensas monetarias por ello, y mucho menos cantidades tan grandes.

Sin embargo, no puedo dejar de dar fe de su increíble generosidad reproduciendo su amable carta en Internet para que todo el mundo la conozca y sepa la clase de persona que es usted.
